New Discounts and Free Whopper Offer
Walmart Inc. (NYSE:WMT) has announced a new partnership with Burger King, a subsidiary of Restaurant Brands International Inc. (NYSE:QSR), to provide exclusive discounts and benefits to its Walmart Plus members. Starting Thursday, Walmart Plus subscribers can enjoy a 25% discount on any digital order from Burger King daily. Beginning in September, members will also receive a free Whopper burger every three months with any purchase at Burger King.
Competing with Amazon Prime
This collaboration aims to enhance the appeal of Walmart Plus as the retailer strives to compete more effectively with Amazon Prime. Walmart Plus is priced at $12.95 per month or $98 per year, offering benefits such as free shipping with no minimum order and access to Paramount+ streaming services. In contrast, Amazon Prime costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year and provides additional perks, including no-fee access to Grubhub+ for online food delivery.
Walmart Plus members can redeem their Burger King discounts by placing orders through the chain’s app or website at participating locations nationwide. This partnership is part of a broader trend of retailers and fast-food chains launching value deals to attract cost-conscious consumers amid fluctuating demand.
